For the first time since joining Conference USA, the Liberty University Football played in its inaugural C-USA contest on Saturday Sept. 9, 2023 at Williams Stadium. New Mexico State jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. But the Flames were able to answer right back to tie the game at 7.
The Flames were able to defeat the Aggies 33-17 to win their first-ever Conference USA game. Liberty sophomore quarterback Kaidon Salter WAS 15-25, and threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns.
Next, the Flames head on the road to face Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023. Kickoff is set for noon.
