LU to stay away from Political Clubs

Liberty University is trying to work on a proposal that would end the school’s official endorsement of all political campus clubs.

The proposal would categorize political clubs as unofficial clubs, which would not receive money from the university, but would still be able to use the university’s name.

Unofficial clubs will now be able to use the school’s master calendar system to take advantage of the school’s facilities.

Formerly, unofficial clubs were relegated to areas such as dorm rooms, student centers and the dining hall.
Unofficial clubs that choose to sponsor a candidate whose stance is contrary to the mission of the school, would be denied use of the school’s main facilities.
