LU hosts Awakenings and Revivals in American History Conference

The Liberty University History Department announces a conference and call for papers on Awakenings and Revivals in American History. The conference organizers welcome a wide array of paper topics and/or panel proposals which examine the social, cultural and intellectual origins and influences of revivals and spiritual awakenings in American History. This conference aims to create a forum for collegial discourse with scholars from various perspectives and academic disciplines including history, literature, theology and church history. The conference will feature addresses from Thomas Kidd of Baylor University and John Fea of Messiah College as well as a roundtable discussion of Thomas Kidd’s 2007 publication The Great Awakening: The Roots of Evangelical Christianity in Colonial America. The conference will be held on April 16-18, 2009.
