Liberty University\u2019s women\u2019s division I hockey team<\/a> is ranked No. 1 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association\u2019s (ACHA)<\/a> 2011-2012 national poll.<\/p>\n With a 12-1-1 record on the season, Coach Paul Bloomfield said the team has a shot to win Liberty\u2019s first national title in women\u2019s hockey.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s pretty exciting. Everybody\u2019s working really hard. We\u2019re going to have our hands full because we have a thin bench, but as long as everybody can stay healthy, we have a good chance, a good run for the national championship,\u201d Bloomfield said. \u201cWe appreciate all the school\u2019s done for us and all our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n He said Liberty\u2019s win against defending ACHA champion Michigan State and two wins against No. 2 ranked Robert Morris earlier this season likely boosted the team to the top spot.<\/p>\n The next ranking will be released by the middle of December. The top 10-ranked teams will face off at the national championships in March.<\/p>\n Liberty is scheduled to play its next game on Dec. 1 at the University of Massachusetts.
