Lynchburg residents driving around Liberty University’s campus at night may notice bright blue lights dotted across campus, visible at a great distance.<\/p>\n

For students in closer proximity, the blue lights are at the top of new blue light boxes designed to help increase campus safety. As part of Liberty’s $9 million effort to increase campus safety, the blue light boxes are some of the most visible steps Liberty University is taking to help prevent sexual assaults and other incidents on campus.<\/p>\n

“The safety of our students and our entire campus community is our utmost priority,” said Liberty Interim President Jerry Prevo. “We take this responsibility seriously, and we want to do everything we can to promote a safe environment. The blue lights are a great step forward.”<\/p>\n
