Thanks to their distance online program, LU has more than 50,000 students for this Fall. 12,000 are expected to be on campus, another record breaker.<\/p>\n

More than 50,000 students will attend Liberty University this fall.\u00a0 Twelve thousand will be on campus in Lynchburg.\u00a0 Another 45,000 will pursue a degree online.<\/p>\n

Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. says the popularity of LU’s online program comes from the bad economy, which is forcing students to take classes on the internet to save money.<\/p>\n

“Those 45,000 are students working toward a degree. They’re not just somebody taking a class and then moving onto something else. I told the students this morning, there’s enough students in our student body now to fill Dodger stadium,” said Falwell.<\/p>\n

The school accepts more than 90 percent of students who apply, but Falwell says academic standards are being raised each year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
