Mickey DeMorat shot three-over par 73 Sunday in the final round of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.<\/p>\n
DeMorat finished tied for 56th place with four other players at 17-over-par 297.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old shot a two-over-par 72 in each of the first two rounds before registering a 10-over-par 80 on Saturday.<\/p>\n
DeMorat earned a berth in the U.S. Open by winning a playoff for the final spot in a sectional qualifier in Maryland earlier this month. He graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia last month.<\/p>\n
