{"id":1733,"date":"2013-09-23T13:16:53","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T18:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.libertystudentnews.com\/?p=1733"},"modified":"2013-09-23T13:16:53","modified_gmt":"2013-09-23T18:16:53","slug":"liberty-university-cinematic-arts-center-helps-finalize-dvd-feature-for-kirk-camerons-unstoppable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.libertystudentnews.com\/?p=1733","title":{"rendered":"Liberty University Cinematic Arts Center helps finalize DVD feature for Kirk Cameron&#8217;s &#8216;Unstoppable&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Liberty University prepares to debut filmmaker Kirk Cameron\u2019s latest project \u201cUnstoppable\u201d on Tuesday, Sept. 24, during a live event broadcast from campus, Liberty faculty and students are working to finalize work on the DVD release of the film.<\/p>\n<p>Stephan Schultze, director of Liberty\u2019s Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center, and Scotty Curlee, assistant professor of cinematic arts, traveled to Cameron\u2019s California home last week to conduct and film interviews for the DVD\u2019s behind the scenes special feature. Among those interviewed were Cameron, the family the film centers on, some key actors, and historian\/producer Marshall Foster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best part about this behind-the-scenes project is that Liberty film students will be editing the footage which will appear in the DVD release of the movie,\u201d Schultze said. \u201cIt is another example of how Liberty University\u2019s Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center is integrating with the film industry to provide exceptional opportunities for its film students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Editing is expected to be completed by early October. The DVD is set to release in early January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnstoppable\u201d explores some of life\u2019s most difficult questions about suffering and the unstoppable victory of the Gospel throughout history. Cameron is a faithful supporter of Liberty and even shared his enthusiasm for the world\u2019s largest Christian university on live television, when he hosted TBN\u2019s \u201cPraise the Lord\u201d and welcomed Liberty President Jerry Falwell, Jr. as a special guest.<\/p>\n<p>The movie\u2019s premiere event will take place in the Vines Center and simultaneously broadcast to more than 600 theaters nationwide. Students accepted as cinematic arts majors enter an immersion program their junior year, in which they are devoted solely to their filmmaking academia.
