University officials say the owners were looking to retire and approached the school with an offer to sell.<\/p>\n<p>For Liberty, the property was just the right location &#8211; right in its backyard. A couple months later, the deal was done.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We talked with them after that, and came to a realization that it was affordable for both of us, and because of the proximity to the campus, we purchased it,&#8221; said Neal Askew, executive vice president of LU.<\/p>\n<p>Liberty plans to lease out the building for someone to run as a restaurant.
