A $1 million donation to Liberty University will be used to fund scholarships for students pursuing missions work.<\/p>\n
Liberty says in a news release that the donation came from a Georgia man who died in October 2011 at the age of 82. The man named the university as the main beneficiary in his will.<\/p>\n
Liberty didn\u2019t identify the donor.<\/p>\n
Everett Foutz with the university\u2019s Planned Giving Department says the man was a private person who donated the money in honor of his mother and brother.<\/p>\n
Foutz says the man was interested in missions work and spent time overseas in government service.<\/p>\n
