Construction crews at Liberty University demolished the 25-year-old Hancock Athletic Center on Thursday to make way for a new visitor’s center.
The 32,000-square-foot building will stand across the street from the bookstore and within walking distance of the Carter Glass Mansion and Williams Stadium.
Construction is set to begin March 1, and plans include meeting rooms, a museum and theater.
