A Liberty University professor who is being accused of “inappropriate sexual content” has had the most serious charge dropped.
William Atwell was charged on Nov. 11, 2021, with felony abduction and misdemeanor sexual battery for an alleged incident involving a student.
Atwell denies that he committed any crime and his attorney says the professor will plead not guilty at his trial next month.
“No final decision has been made by the university on this matter and a decision cannot be made until the university’s own processes are complete.”
