Kansas City Chiefs are one of the half-dozen or so teams to have reached out to Liberty LB Anthony Butler ahead of the 2021 NFL draft. In lieu of top 30 visits, NFL teams are permitted up to five calls any given prospect. Each of those calls can last up to an hour.
A grad transfer from University of Charlotte, Butler (6-1, 223 pounds) racked up 67 total tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions and four passes defended across nine games with Liberty in 2020. Butler’s year culminated with an additional game, an impressive 37-34 win against Coastal Carolina in the Cure Bowl, during which he recorded nine total tackles and a sack.
