The NCAA has approved Liberty University’s waiver request for the Football Bowl Subdivision reclassification process.
The university got the notification today after submitting a waiver in January.
Starting with the 2017-18 year, Liberty’s football program will start the FBS reclassification process.
Liberty will compete as a FBS independent during the 2018 season, and be bowl eligible in the 2019 season.
