No charges to be filed against LU football player accused of sexual assault

The Lynchburg Commonwealth’s Attorney is not seeking charges against one of the Liberty University football players that was being investigated for alleged sexual assault, according to the family’s attorney.

In a press release, Commonwealth’s Attorney Mike Doucette says the incident was “thoroughly investigated” by the Investigations Bureau of the LPD. Doucette says, in part, that it was determined there was “insufficient evidence to file or prosecute any charges in this matter.” “Based on talking to all the witnesses, the complaining witness, talking to all the witnesses we could find we’ve concluded that the evidence is inconclusive to go forward with any charges,” he said.
