The nation’s top-scoring Freshman is headed to play for Duke.
The Blue Devils who lost in the Sweet 16 this week wasted no time offering the high scoring guard a scholarship to add depth to its back court in the future.
Curry will sit out next season for the Blue Devils and be eligible to take the court during the 2010-2011 season.
Ok, so he doesn’t get to the big dance this year. We’re a young team and he’s got 3 years to get there. Nevertheless, he becomes the nation’s leading scorer at a small school and decides he’d rather sit the bench at a big school. Honestly, we’ve seen what the big schools do to Curry’s–both got snubbed, unjustly. I’ll be shocked if he makes starter at Duke because I figure that they’re just nipping this thing in the bud before they suffer defeat at LU’s hands–3 years to grow and improve, Curry leading the nation in scoring every time… Then, he’ll steal top NBA recruiting honors away from bigger schools and their poster boys. Seriously. Not that he’s not good enough… because his is. The issue is he’s too good, and I wonder if they’ll give him the same stage as LU did. Likely not.
