Liberty University Law School Demands Lawsuit Coverage

Liberty University’s law school wants a judge to force its insurance company to pay for its defense in a lawsuit stemming from a same-sex-marriage custody battle.

The case involves a Bedford County woman and her former lesbian partner.

Janet Jenkins filed suit, saying Liberty’s agents conspired to help her former lesbian partner Lisa Miller and their daughter Isabella disappear.

Hanover Insurance Company says it doesn’t owe coverage because Jenkins’ lawsuit does not claim bodily injury under its policies.

Liberty says emotional distress falls within the scope of the definition of bodily injury.
