Construction for SNOWFLEX starts this week

A Lynchburg mountain is about to be permanently capped in fake snow.

Work on the new “Snowflex” center at Liberty University is starting this week.

Crews are busy tearing down trees and grading land to build the 40-thousand square foot ski slope.

You’ll soon see the project taking shape on Candler’s Mountain, just west of the L-U monogram.

A show on the Discovery Channel will be documenting the Snowflex project as it goes up.

The new ski slope will be open year round when construction wraps up in February 2009.
