Mickey DeMorat shot three-over par 73 Sunday in the final round of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
DeMorat finished tied for 56th place with four other players at 17-over-par 297.
The 23-year-old shot a two-over-par 72 in each of the first two rounds before registering a 10-over-par 80 on Saturday.
DeMorat earned a berth in the U.S. Open by winning a playoff for the final spot in a sectional qualifier in Maryland earlier this month. He graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia last month.
