Liberty University announced Friday that coach Turner Gill and assistant coach Ron Brown will each be suspended for one game for an NCAA rules violation.
Brown will be suspended for Saturday’s game against Monmouth. Gill will be suspended for a different game this season.
According to Liberty, the violation was because Brown made a scholarship offer to a recruit before Aug. 1 of the recruit’s senior year. The NCAA mandates a one-game suspension for the assistant coach and head coach for such an infraction.
