Liberty University has purchased a Revolutionary War-era tavern in the town of New London.
The university says it bought Mead’s Tavern from the nonprofit organization Friends of New London Virginia, Inc., and has formed a partnership with the previous owner to continue the building’s restoration. New London is about 13 miles from the Lynchburg school.
