A car ran off the road and down an embankment into Williams Stadium on the campus of Liberty University around 8:30 on Saturday night. It happened in the 1900 block of University Blvd.
Lynchburg Police say the driver, 61-year-old, James R. Dowdy of Lynch Station was pronounced dead at the hospital around 9:05 p.m.
