Liberty University was donated Ivy Lake by Lynchburg-area residents Tom DeWitt, Terry Dobyns and Richard Chaffin. Estimated worth of the property is about $2 million.
The school also was was given a commercial lot adjacent to Applebee’s worth about $1 million.
Ivy Lake is a man-made lake inside of Forest’s Ivy Hill subdivision.
Jerry Falwell Jr. has decided to take his seat at Bedford County after being appointed a year ago. He waited this long due to his transition at Liberty University as Chancellor. He was sworn in on Oct. 8th 2008. He’ll take the seat this Thursday.
