Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine will be coming to LU’s convocation tomorow morning campaigning for Obama.
Liberty Alum, Daniel Renstrom, will be coming back to sing this Friday for Convocation. Here’s a vid from his performance last year:
It looks like a representative of Obama’s campaign is getting closer to addressing students at Liberty University. John McCain’s brother, Joe spoke at convocation last month. Tuesday South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham spoke on McCain’s behalf. Also Tuesday the director of Barack Obama’s Virginia office sent a letter to LU Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. offering to have an Obama representative come speak. Falwell formally extended an invitation for a representative in the campaign to come speak. Now they’re working on the details on who will come and when, but it must be a national level spokesperson. By law, the school can keep its tax exempt status with political speakers, as long as both parties are asked.
The guy who threatened Jerry Falwell Jr. on the News & Advance website gets no bond. The judge said the man was a threat to himself and others.
He was on bond last time and got out. But after he made threats to a News & Advance reporter, he went back to jail. Now he gets no bond.
Liberty University School of Law announced they had a 94.4% Virginia bar passage rate for the class of 2008. Liberty University School of Law’s continued success on the bar exam places the law school in the top tier of all law schools in the country with respect to bar passage rates. Liberty’s graduates from the class of 2008 took the bar exam in 13 states. Liberty surpassed expectations last year, when the inaugural class achieved an outstanding 89.1% national pass rate on the bar exam.
